Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Commitment

Privcal is built with privacy as a core principle. Your calendar data is processed locally on your device, and we never have access to your raw event details.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Event titles, descriptions, or notes
  • Attendee names or email addresses
  • Calendar content or event details
  • Location information from your events

Data We May Collect

If you opt in to diagnostics, we may collect:

  • Anonymous usage statistics (sync counts, app version)
  • Error reports (without personal data)
  • macOS version for compatibility tracking

How Your Data Stays Private

Privcal processes your calendar data entirely on your Mac. When you publish availability:

  1. Your local calendars are read on your device
  2. Events are converted to simple "busy/free" time blocks
  3. Only these anonymized blocks are published to your destination calendar
  4. Event titles, attendees, and details never leave your device

Third-Party Services

Privcal integrates with Google Calendar to publish your availability. When you connect your Google account, you authorize Privcal to write to a specific calendar. We use Google's OAuth for secure authentication and never store your Google password.
