Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 14, 2026
Our Privacy Commitment
Privcal is built with privacy as a core principle. Your calendar data is processed locally on your device, and we never have access to your raw event details.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Event titles, descriptions, or notes
- Attendee names or email addresses
- Calendar content or event details
- Location information from your events
Data We May Collect
If you opt in to diagnostics, we may collect:
- Anonymous usage statistics (sync counts, app version)
- Error reports (without personal data)
- macOS version for compatibility tracking
How Your Data Stays Private
Privcal processes your calendar data entirely on your Mac. When you publish availability:
- Your local calendars are read on your device
- Events are converted to simple "busy/free" time blocks
- Only these anonymized blocks are published to your destination calendar
- Event titles, attendees, and details never leave your device
Third-Party Services
Privcal integrates with Google Calendar to publish your availability. When you connect your Google account, you authorize Privcal to write to a specific calendar. We use Google's OAuth for secure authentication and never store your Google password.
